Professional Presentations & Training

A presentation about mindfulness and mediation, what it is, what it isn’t, how to start to develop it in everyday life and why. Includes some of the compelling research as to why every person may want to consider this powerful tool.

This presentation is primarily for professionals in mental health, giving a framework and options for building a treatment plan that is evidence based, custom, and goes beyond cliché and pithy advice found at the local AA club.

A presentation detailing what happens in relapse, with an emphasis on how drinking or using comes late in the process. The presentation helps individuals, clinicians, family, friends, or employers identifiy patterns and signs earlier before the chemical momentum becomes a formidable barrier.

Relationships in recovery – romantic, parent/child, work, recovery peers – are complicated and often intense. This presentation gives individuals, families, and mental health providers information about what to expect and how to navigate the early months of recovery.

Based on a metaphor, Joanne takes participants through a series of introspective questions and helps them free up personal “disk space” so they are more available to themselves and others.
